The nature of the work is focused on collecting Industrial Engineering data to establish baseline factory metrics to support manufacturing modernization and costing of footwear products. Works across the footwear categories, factory partners, and functional engineering teams using existing or new IE tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities: Collects industrial engineering data in order to establish baseline metrics for current Factory Partner facilities.
Analyses baseline information to determine opportunities for optimization projects / activities and communicates with Modernization team.
Actively participate in project discussions in order to estimate the impact (in terms of labor, cycle time, capacity, and other relevant metrics) of Manufacturing Modernization projects on current Factory Partner facilities
Validates actual results of projects post-installation and works with Factory Partners and other Nike engineering functions in order to achieve expected results
Work with Factory Partner IE teams to set targets and drive efficiency improvements with the goal of approaching the standard required minutes
Develops, designs and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
Develops and manage multiple project timelines and shares with stakeholders
Bachelor or Master Degree in Industrial
Engineering.2-3 years relevant industry (manufacturing, industrial, costing or process engineering) experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience using Industrial Engineering techniques and tools such as Observational Time / Pre-Determined Motion Studies, Line Balancing, Line Utilization / Capacity analysis, Value vs Non-Value process analysis.
Knowledge and experience collecting Industrial Engineering data in order to establish baseline factory performance metrics.
Experience analyzing factory performance metrics to identify opportunities; estimate and validate project impact.
Be excited to work with and in a manufacturing environment. Has the ability to independently manage projects and communicate progress and priorities to management and internal customers. Must be able to travel to or work directly at factories, sometimes for extended periods,
Excellent communication in all levels and cross functioning,
Good Communication skills for findings throughout project life cycle with various stakeholders
Project management and Lean Manufacturing experience desired.
Fluent in English
Excellent computer knowledge (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
